This past Saturday I had a short & sweet girls night with one of my longest friends, Amy. Amy and I have been friends since 7th grade ( I think?) We met in our church youth group and became fast friends. There was a group of us girls that always hung out together but Amy and I have stayed close all these years.
We were 12 years old having a slumber party one night and sat in Amy’s backyard and pinky promised we would be friends forever, live next door to each other and our kids would be best friends. Well, we live on opposite sides of town and see each other a few times a year. Now we have husbands, kids, work, distance etc that gets in the way of seeing each other as much as we would like. But, we always pick up right where we left off. Like not one day has passed since we were those little girls in her backyard.
Anyway, Saturday night we went to a restaurant in Riverside called Black Sheep. One of my top 5 favorite restaurants here in Jacksonville. They have amazing cocktails, fresh farm to table food and the BEST ambience.
We spent the night on the rooftop bar staying warm by the fire pit!
Their cocktails are out of this world. My favorite was the “Oak Street Shrub”: woodford reserve bourbon, pear vanilla shrub, cinnamon syrup & angostura.
All in all, a great night with lots of catching up and girl talk I won’t bore you with.
Can you put one of those GPS trackers for your car keys on your dogs leash? Asking for a friend…..

I don’t ever claim to be a know it all when it comes to “mom-ing.” There’s a lot I don’t know and still learning with each child. But, I do know baby gadgets pre-tty darn well. Granted, we all have different routines and ways of doing things. But, I feel like there are some items that are pretty universal when it comes to making your life just a little easier.
So, I present to you the 2017 “I have 5 kids so I know my gadgets, buy these things, you’re welcome” list. Continue reading “Baby Gadgets”
Well, I haven’t been sure what my next post would be about. I thought about it. And thought some more. I’m just going to start at the beginning. Each of my children’s birth. But, I’m going to go backwards. Mila’s story is the funniest and includes all of the other kids reactions so, it’s my favorite. And she just so happens to be my favorite child right now. What? You have a favorite? That’s not good and you shouldn’t admit that on the internet. Right? Yeh well they are all my favorite when they are babies. No backtalk, no attitudes, no tantrums. Not to mention how YUMMY LITTLE BABIES ARE!!!
So I got pregnant. Again. For the fifth time. Yes, we know how that happens. Thanks. (insert eye roll) The reason this fifth time was SO VERY shocking is because I had my tubes tied after Millie (#4). Yes, you read that correctly. Tubes. Tied. No more babies. Or so we thought. This is the part of the story where all of my friends (or anyone for that matter) starts freaking out. “Wait. What? I HAVE MY TUBES TIED!! Am I going to get pregnant TOO!?” No, you’re not. Calm down. Well, I mean you probably won’t. Sorry I don’t know. But I did. And then I laugh. And they don’t.

I’m in the very beginning stages of creating an Etsy store to sell fun printables. Family, kids, baby – all the fun stuff I like. Being creative is a great outlet for me to wind down (along with a glass of wine. Or two. 😂🍷)
Anyways, sometimes I’ll share free high resolution printables with y’all. And here’s my first one.
It’s cute watercolor cowboy boots. And George Strait. I mean, come on. It’s adorable.
This can be printed at any size up to 11×14!
Hope y’all enjoy!

Um, I’m starting a blog?! My friends tell me all the time that I (and my family) need our own tv show. I’m not sure it would be a prime-time favorite, or if I’m down for that much transparency, ha! (I doubt anyone really wants to see me change diapers and run around my crazy house with, GASP, no makeup!!! Yeeesh!!!)
So, here’s a blog instead. A blog. What will this blog be about? I don’t really know. Haha! My (blended) family, our craziness, mom to mom musings, funny stories…. all that.
So, I guess I should start by introducing myself. My name is Cynthia Wood. I was born and raised (and will never ever leave) the beautiful sunshine state. Florida! I am married to the man of my dreams (cliche, I know.) But I really am married to my best friend and partner in crime, Curtis. Together we have 3 BEAUTIFUL little girls. Maizey (4 years), Millie (2 years) and Mila (7 months.) I also have a 10 year old son, Parker. My only boy and Momma’s heart. And also Halle, my 5 year old spitfire! AND!!! He has Breckyn (18 years), Bella (10 years) and Eden (6 years). Did you get all that??? Did you count? Yes, that’s 8 kids. EIGHT. To say our house is CRAZY is an understatement.
Soooo, if you think you might like a laugh or two – stay tuned 😀
